K.C. is a founding member of the Knudson Foundation, a non-profit entity devoted to supporting programs encouraging music performance and appreciation among our youth. He was a member of the Young Presidents Organization and was selected as the Outstanding Young Iowan in 1980.

In 1969, Knudson General Contractors began building commercial and residential properties. In 1985, Knudson Management Company was formed to manage many of the residential properties that KGCC built. In 1990, Knudson acquired and renovated properties throughout the United States, and in the early 2000s, Knudson entered the luxury housing market. K.C. is not only a pioneer in the development and management of commercial and residential housing; he is a leader in the luxury housing industry of the future. His expertise in affordable housing, low-income tax credit properties, development and management of historical properties, homeownership programs, syndication of properties and investors, construction building, and management makes him truly an expert in his field.

Since 1974, K. C. Knudson, or an organization with which he is affiliated, has acquired, developed, constructed, or operated over 6,000 housing units, including apartment complexes, high-rise buildings, large residential developments, and single-family homes.
